Sonder Moments has arrived!
by sondercounsellingservices
Hi, my name is Bettina (also known as Betty) and my blog 'Sonder Moments' has arrived. Amazingly, I have ventured into the world of the BLOG. Some would probably say kicking and screaming......

I am hoping through this blog that I will be able to connect with others who will enjoy this content and at times, my musings and my open and honest conversations.

I do have a quirky sense of humour and enjoy a sense of fun but take my role as a counsellor very seriously. I believe in the importance of good 'Mental Health' and focusing support around increasing a persons wellbeing and validating their personal experiences.
This blog is intended to stimulate thoughts, discussion and reflection from a supportive perspective, as well as an open and honest forum, that allows people to also feel safe. Topics will be varied, hopefully relevant, close to my heart and hopefully important to others. I encourage valuable feedback and insights. Topics of interest will focus upon discussions raised by the media, relationship difficulties, grief responses, types of loss, impact of caring roles, the impact of various stress, anxiety and depression factors, dealing with a new diagnosis, relationships and life transitions but will not be limited to these topics.

At times, people can inadvertently dismiss or invalidate a person who is experienceing emotional pain due to their own ackwardness, uncertaintanty, lack of understanding, avoidance issues or trivializing the difficulties being experienced. This does not mean they are 'bad' people but may not necessarily recognize the extent of the pain or confusion that the person may be feeling or the dificulty for them to articulate their needs. We are all different. It is my aim for this space to be place where feel comfortable and welcome to share their views.

Please Note: No identifiable material regarding client/sessions will be used in these blog posts.

  • If any discussion involves content that potentially may trigger a negative or stressful response a warning will be written at the beginning of the blog post. For instance, if a blog post will discuss the topic of addiction, at the start of the post will appear CW (Content warning): Addiction.
